Gympie airfield & regional information
Gympie Aerodrome (YGYM) is a well-maintained facility owned and operated by the Gympie Regional Council. Conveniently located just 40 minutes north of Noosa and 10 minutes south of Gympie, it’s easily accessible via the Old Bruce Highway.
Situated in uncontrolled airspace, the airport offers breathtaking flying opportunities over the Mary Valley, Fraser Island, the Cooloola Coast, and Noosa's North Shore.
The site features aircraft maintenance facilities and easy access to local services and shopping.
Gympie Aerodrome is also home to the Cumulus Airpark Aviation Community, a private residential development with direct runway access. Currently under construction, this exclusive community allows residents to roll their aircraft straight from their hangar to the runway, ready for takeoff.

Permission Required: Gympie Regional Council requires visiting aircraft to complete a request to operate.
You can apply for up to 12 months, but you will need to give a minimum of 5 working days (where possible) before your first requested access date. Once approved by the ARO, you do not need extra permission within the application period.
